AppleInsider reports that according to its sources, Apple was readying its US retail stores over the past weekend for the arrival of the white iPhone 4 handsets, which have been delayed since last July. Apparently stores have already had shipment notifications for the different versions of the white iPhone 4, but have been told not to display the handsets and to keep them in the back of their stores until they get the go-ahead to start selling them. This ties in with a report on 9to5 Mac on Saturday which said that 16 GB and 32 GB white iPhone 4s will be arriving at Best Buy stores throughout the US on Monday and Tuesday, ready to go on sale on Wednesday April 27. 9to5 Mac says that most stores have approximately 10 16 GB handsets ordered for launch day; they have no word as yet on how many 32 GB phones are on order.
