Hi - some information about this Jailbreak.
I tried plugging in my iPad for the Jailbreak and received the following error: "Failed to retrieve package info from the internet"
I searched the internet for a solution and eventually found the appended solution on another forum
NB - I can only vouch for the Windows version
For Mac OS X:
On your Mac, go to your “Applications” folder. Now navigate to the “Utilities” folder. Launch "Terminal". Type "sudo nano /etc/hosts" (without quotes) and hit return. Enter your password. You won’t see anything change on-screen when you type your password; this is normal. Use the down arrow key to scroll to the bottom and enter a new blank line. The line should read:
97.89.129.19 evasi0n.com
Exit the nano editor by pressing Ctrl+X, followed by Y, and return.
Close Evasi0n if open, then open Evasi0n. You should be able to jailbreak. Once jailbroken, follow the above steps to erase the line you added.
For Windows:
Click Start, followed by Programs and Accessories. Right-click Notepad and choose “Run as Administrator”. On Windows XP, if your account is an administrator, you can simply click to open Notepad, otherwise you’ll need to choose “Run As...” Click “Open” from File menu. Browse to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. In the dropdown menu that says “Text Documents (*.txt)”, select All Files. Double-click on “hosts”. Use the down arrow key to scroll to the bottom and enter a new blank line. The line should read:
97.89.129.19 evasi0n.com
Click “Save” from the File menu. Close Evasi0n if open. Open Evasi0n and jailbreak. After jailbreaking, repeat above steps but delete the line you added.
