MacBook Pro Retina

No still no sign of it, If they don't have it in for me by Wednesday i'll cancel and get one from elsewhere, I have used this shop before and usually they are reliable but not so this time.
Have you thought of ordering it directly from the Apple online store?

Yes i checked that out and i was offered a good deal but we're looking at about 2 weeks for delivery and its too long to ask the person who wants to buy my old one to wait, We have an Apple store 20 miles away so i can always go there.

why would they have to wait 2 weeks? sell it and then get your new mbp, or grab one in person on the same day, im sure the apple store has plenty

I need the new one so i can transfer my data to it from the old one before i sell it.

I would use time machine so it backs everything up for you and you can easily transfer with out the mac there

I put an SSD in my old Dell laptop and also did a clean install of new OS, Win 7. (the horror..talking of Windows here!). Anyway...the SSD is a dream. My old laptop now boots up in under 30 seconds where it used to be over 3 minutes. I though about getting the Fusion drive which is a "hybrid" hard/flash drive for my iMac, but didn't. Not sure I miss it to be honest.

I thought about that, I would have to buy an external hard drive, I really should have one.

There's the Apple Time Capsule, with a 2TB capacity and it also functions as an AirPort Extreme base station. It costs $299.00 in the Canadian online Apple Store.
The 3TB model sells for $100.00 more.

Bit pricey on top of everything else, I need to buy an external disc drive too as the Retina model doesn't have one.

Thanks sci, I just read that....great minds think alike ;)

Just done some more reading on Time Machine and a lot of people say it slows down your Mac :(

Can't you hook up an external drive to the new airport extreme and get the same thing as the Time Capsule?
