I can't believe the things you see on your walks, Any Apple trees here are safely behind garden fencing.

Not all of ours.
People sometimes have trees (cherries, apple trees) in their vineyards as well.

I know this area quite well, and when I walk, I notice what's changed and take pictures. That's also one of the reasons why I need 45 or sometimes even 55 minutes for a walk that would last 35 minutes otherwise.
