That's what happened when my iPhone started having problems. Their can go on for several months but will get slowly worse with time until the touchscreen stops working completely.

Hopefully it'll hold out till the 7 gets here

Mine lasted for three months after the problem started so you should be all right.

I've always kept mine in a case. Hate to cover it up but don't want it beat up either

first time iI scratched mine, but was enough to make me decide to get a case, probably a see through one
