My latest acquisition, A Chinese Lacquer Sewing Box, It dates from around 1860 so the the gold and lacquer decoration has kept really well and the deeply carved Ivory tools are beautiful.

It's beautiful! And it doesn't require major restoration. Moisture and excessive humidity can ruin fine lacquer work. It's great that this sewing box lasted to the present in such fine condition.

Yes I'm really happy with the condition, There are areas of rubbing to the decoration but that is to be expected after about 150 years of handling,
Some have lost their little compartment separators or lids inside and some are minus handles or even the feet so I think this one has been well looked after.
It was getting dark when I took this, so the quality is not the best
