reedeming a itunes giftcard on my iphone 4

hiya just a quick question i hope somebody can help with, if i redeem an itunes voucher via my app store on my iphone4, will the credit also be available to use in the itunes shop too? on music, both on my computer and via my phone? or will my credit card get billed seperately for music purchaces?
