Chris951 said:No offence BUT you are not making 540hp with AFR heads, Trickflow intake, and a crappy b cam. That's a very mismatched combo and depending on what size the heads are, you probably are around 325-350 at best with a stock stroke 302. And there's no such thing as a 72mm throttle body.
I know many many guys running similar combos and can't break the 350 barrier. I also know guys with 347's running big 195 Canfield heads, edelbrock victor efi spyder intakes, and custom cams that are only running around 425hp. The only way to even reach 500hp without going to a 9.5 deck or running insane compression, huge h/c/i, and race fuel, is with boost. And these are engine builders and guys that have been doing it forever.
Like I said, not trying to be a dunce but I know mustangs better than anything else and I can smell bs from a mile away when it comes to these cars. No need to lie man lol.

If you know anything about push rod V8s you know they can make insane amounts of power. I'm not mismatched at all. The AFR heads. If you know about them. They build to spec. The ask what you want, wants going on the car and then machine them. Each one is individually stamped. And I do believe about not breaking the 350hp berries is with the 4.6 modular motor. Those are crap in my opinion. Irregardless my engine I build from the ground up. Everything I did was build to spec. Everything was ordered to work with the other parts for maximum performance. If you want numbers and specs on how i built it then you can see everything I have done will make that much power. It's still a roller 302 it's not stroked and no boost. It's still the 5.0 but custom machined pistons, heads and everything else. Also it doesn't run pump gas. So before you call bs next time make sure you ask more follow up questions and make sure it's not towards someone who builds engines for a living. It's not hard to take a motor and with the right specs and a few parts make an insane amount of power.

Windsor, & I send mine out to be built to spec lol, next project is going to be a bit wilder tho

Chris951 said:If you were an engine builder, you'd know that it's a mismatched combo. You'd know that b cams make no power. Infact, their powerband is so narrow that you wouldn't make any power with those heads and intake. You'd know that you would make more power with the stock cam. You'd know that 5.0's don't make jack for power unless theyre boosted or stroked compared to other v8's. I know for a fact that you aren't making anywhere near 540hp even with "race gas". I can tell by how you described your mods that you don't know much and that you're not making squat.
I am by no means an engine builder. But I have built a couple 5.0's. One had trickflow 195 cnc heads, trickflow track heat R intake, custom jay Allen cam with ~.540 lift on 1.6 rr's, 10.5:1 compression, 14* base timing, stock stroke bored .020 over, long tubes, msd ignition and billet dizzy, 45lb injectors. It made 365hp and 380lb at the wheels on 93 octane and 405hp on c16. So I know for a fact that you are nowhere even close with that junk cam that is mismatched to your combo. A cam is the final piece of the puzzle and pulls everything together. so why would you throw a junk can in. Probably because you don't know very much.
