Hello,

On my iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 12.5.7... Mail displays that I have over 7000 Unread messages in my inbox, but I can't manage to view, or, more importantly, delete any of 'em.

I have Googled until my fingers bled, and experimented with lots of suggested solutions, but the problem persists.

Sincere thanks for any methods that might work,

A.C.

Check the filter on the emails. It may be filtering out the view you want. Or check the folders.

Hi,

My email provider is our firm's website SMTP server, and searching there locates none of these "unread messages."

Thanks for any further thoughts,
A.C.

Some simple testing indicates that there are no unread messages on our server, Clearly, the problem is on my iPhone.

Thanks again,
A.C.
Could this be a notification error? Perhaps your iPhone isn't missing emails, just improperly showing notifications? If you log into your email from another device or online, are their emails there that do not show up on your iPhone?

How many email accounts do you have on your iPhone?

Yes, it certainly could be a notification error. No, when I go online and look for these unread messages, there are none to be found. And, I have one email account on my phone.

Thanks,
A.C.
Did It test or did you? They need to be aware that you are having an issue. They may have an answer not available to you.

The testing was done by a Support Tech from our hosting company...

Thanks,

Reboot the iPhone. If that doesn't work try deleting that email app and reloading it. You may also need to reset everything on the iPhone.

This problem has been going on for weeks, and through several boot cycles. The email app is the one provided with the phone. I don't even know if it can be deleted, and restored.

I have rebooted many times to no avail. Beyond that, until moments ago, I was not aware that the Mail could be removed, and then restored. I will try that tomorrow.

Thanks,
A.C.
