Would you buy a folding iPhone?

I can see that plenty of people carry proper bags with tech , as for the hinge they have been very strong and well made on the Google and Samsung phones I've used daily. Foldables you will see reports of damage and all but most of us have zero issues with them and use them like a regular phone

I would be interested in a folding iPhone, but for me being retired and now on a fixed income, it's all about being value added with any new high dollar purchase. For myself, it's all about the price and I would think Apple would price such a device where folks would buy it.

My daughter in law got a folding phone in January and after only a few weeks of normal use the screen cracked across the middle, it's gone away for repair but when she gets it back she's exchanging it, it won't be a folding phone again.....

Even with the improvements that have been made in folding phones, the weak point was and is the fold in the screen.

If the current rumors are accurate, Apple should be releasing a folding iPhone during the 18 lineup in 2026. I really just want to see what they can do!

Apple prices their devices at a level where profit is maximized. Too expensive or too cheap and profit will suffer.

Very true. And for a first gen device, normally consumers are paying back their R&D budget as well.

The technology is still too new in my opinion, it's obvious there is going to be issues with them sooner or later.
Apple will watch and wait............

I'm sorry to hear it , which phone? There are always a few that break but the majority of them are very durable. I've never had an issue with one and I've had Samsung Fold 2, 3, 6, Google Pixel , Samsung Flip 2,3 and 4.
There are some great foldables not available to me in US like the new Oppo N5.

Apple wise some great points as the prices will stop some from trying one and I'm also hearing 2026 for release so count me in haha as I'm not updating my IP15P till then

Yes, it's put her off, she would be waiting for it to happen again..
