The "Can I Jailbreak my iPhone on iOS X.X.X" Thread

:) Yes. Point taken. And I hope you're right. I'm just a student of recent jailbreak history and believe it tells us that we're still quite a ways away from the public JB. But we're closer than we were in October. lol!

6.1 released and muscle nerd has hinted towards a Sunday release to distract us from football!

Tapatalk'd from iPhone 4.

I did the update via OTA....is there anyway to go back and do the update via the computer or am I SOL...and I'm not going to be able to JB?

32GB iPad 4 Retina/iPhone4s

You can restore to 6.1 through your computer and get the proper APTickets. You'll be able to jailbreak, just that your blobs won't function properly

On planetbeing's twitter feed it suggest that it could possibly be out before Sunday. Apparently it can be less or more than a week, only time will tell!

At the moment, they can basically release it whenever they want now that Apple has finalized 6.1, they won't be able to block of any other vulnerabilities/exploits until the release of 6.1.1(?)

But no problem with your blobs or APTickets if you go back and re-restore from iTunes. Even after you did it once OTA.

I read that a JB may be out soon for the iPad and I assume that will translate to the iPhone as well. Your sister iPad site said it's ok to upgrade the iPad to OS 6.1 but I was wondering if it's ok to upgrade iPhones to 6.0.2?

Correct. Blobs are based on device and iOS. APTickets are based on the instance of restoring, 2 different things.

@muelgrub, the upcoming jailbreak supports 22 devices (with the exclusion of the Apple TV3) on iOS 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and 6.1)

Thanks for the clarification, Willerz!

And why the heck would a person ever want to jailbreak an Apple TV? To what end?

*shrug* more freedom I guess. I jailbroke my ATV2, I can do stuff with it that I can't on a stock ATV with Cydia on it now.
