The "Can I Jailbreak my iPhone on iOS X.X.X" Thread

Plex allows you to access media from a local network PC or storage. XBMC allows you to install plugins and such to enhance your experience. Basically the "Cydia" of the AppleTV minus the fact that you have to manually get your repos and such. They're both there to basically open up what the AppleTV is capable of.

At the moment, they can basically release it whenever they want now that Apple has finalized 6.1, they won't be able to block of any other vulnerabilities/exploits until the release of 6.1.1(?)

They should be able to jailbreak any new update until a major update, presumably ios7. This is supposed to be a bootrom exploit, so it uses the hardware equipped in the phone.

Technically, a bootrom means that the device should be jailbreakable as long as apple is supporting it with new iOS software.

Tapatalk'd from iPhone 4.

I haven't seen anything from the Devs that states this is a Bootrom exploit. It would be pretty amazing if it was though!! Much like the pre-A5 devices... they'll always have a Tethered JB.

Ooooh, I would SOOOO love that again....

Exploit all the things!! If that were the case, boy 90% of the jailbreaking thirst would be quenched every iOS update.

I'm not sure 90% is the right number. Because the biggest part of the jailbreak thirst comes from people with new hardware (the newest iPhone) that have the newest iOS version on it. BOOTROM exploits are hardware tied. The last BOOTROM exploit was found for the iPhone 4. But I don't think anybody right now wants to own an iPhone 4 just so they could have access to all the new iOS versions. Don't you think? I think over 70% or so are people that need the jailbreak for the newest hardware on the newest iOS.

I mean theoretically speaking. If there was a bootrom exploit for every single device from now and on, it would quench 90% of the thirst. The latter 10% being users that want an untethered jailbreak over a tethered/any jailbreak.

been checking for weeks twitter.com/evad3rs only to find xxxxxxx and xxxxxxxx today<br>

At this very moment, no. However, hints dropped by the Dev team responsible for the untethered 6.0+ Jailbreak leads us to believe we'll see something this coming weekend.

does that mean the tutorials on youtube are fakes?

For untethered jailbreaks, yes. For tethered jailbreaks, half and half. If at this moment, you go on Youtube, and someone claims to have jailbroken an iPhone 4S/5 iPad2/3/4/Mini, it's fake. If they claim to have an untethered jailbreak for any device other than the 3GS and 4th Gen iPod Touch, it's a fake.
