Yes, there was a cancellation and I got the surgery a couple of months earlier than expected.
The surgery was successful and I'm back home now. My brother is staying with me for the first day.

Good to hear you got it over with.
While the surgery may be over with, I have at least 3 months of therapy and physio to keep me busy.

Mowing my lawn.
I guess the new lawnmower must be doing a great job as you never mentioned mowing with the old lawnmower.
That's easily explained:
I can't start the old lawnmower on my own.
I had to wait for the weekend every time I wanted to mow the lawn, so that my son helped me starting it. Though it was way easier to work with it (it's a riding mower), I prefer the new one, because I can use it whenever I want. And, maybe I'm weird, but I know that I have "done something" when I've finished mowing, because I'm exhausted afterwards.
