New to iphone

Totally agree - the fact that so many google apps are available makes things a lot easier. Like people say - on the iPhone, things just seem to work, which can't always be said for Android. I'm not "all in" yet - but, so far, so good.

I'm mostly all in... I could see myself staying with IOS but not giving up my Google ties either..

There's a funny thing. After 6 or more years with an iPhone, I find myself thinking "What would I use a back button for?"

Think of us android users moving to Apple like the windows 8 users and the lack of a start button. There were other ways to accomplish the same thing, but it just wasn't a start button. From what I heard, people who used windows for the first time on Windows 8 found it great.

For me, it's simply that I have to learn shortcuts and tricks for something that I've always just had a button for.

Good analogy. That missing Start button left me floundering.

Hey guys - I'm looking for an app to silence my [hone during work. I had tried several Android Apps for free before I found a good one - then paid for the Pro version. IO on't see any free apps in the App Store (which was supposed to be a strength of the ecosystem) I found "Autosilent", which sounds like just what I need. 2 questions - 1) do any of you guys have any suggestion/recommendations? 2) What's the return policy for the App Store? Google Play was 15 minutes - which - with an app like this, is a joke.

TIA!!!

Not sure if I'm missing something here but it seems to me that muting the ringer with the side switch, turning off vibration (if it's left in a locker where vibration would make a noise) and setting Text Tone to none would do it.

You could also turn on Do Not Disturb.

"Do not Disturb" would work - assuming I remember to do it, then turn it off - that's why there are apps that can silence the phone based on calendar events. The apps were like Do Not disturb - but you could set up multiple schedules, or use a calendar.

Question regarding games ... on initial installation some game download additional files. When the game is deleted are those additions files deleted too? Do I need a file manager to find them and delete them (does iOS have/need file managers??)

Usually you'll get a pop up. I can't remember whether it asks you if you want to delete game data or tells you that it's going to.

My kid used to share my AppleID and downloaded hundreds of games which automatically appeared on my phone. I got well used to deleting them.

Gotcha ... thanks!

Do Not Disburb can be put on a schedule so that it automatically turns on and off at preset times. But I would just use the mute button.
As far as I cam tell - you can not have multiple settings - so, my Do not Disturb is set for over night. If there's a way to add a 2nd time for Monday-Friday - please let me know. And, where's the mute button?

TIA

The mute button is on the left side of the phone above the volume controls. Orange means silent.

You are right about "DND". You can only specify one time block for auto operation. However, you can start it manually from Control Centre.

iTunes Question - this has to be something I'm missing. I see "iTunes Store" and "iTunes U", but no "iTunes"? I'm trying to get to my music that I have downloaded and can play on my desktop.

TIA!!
